Places to Visit in Rishikesh

Laxman Jhula:

Lakshman Jhula is a suspension bridge across the river Ganges, located 5 kilometres north-east of the city of Rishikesh in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. The bridge connects the two villages of Tapovan in Tehri Garhwal district, on the west bank of the river, to Jonk in Pauri Garhwal district, on the east bank.

Neelkanth Mahadev Temple:

Neelkanth Mahadev Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Nilkanth, an aspect of Shiva. The temple is situated at a height of 1330 meters and is located about 32 km from Rishikesh in the Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, India.

Swarg Ashram:

The ashram was built in the memory of Swami Vishudhanand, the saint better known as Kali Kamli Wala (the saint with a black blanket). It is very popular among foreign tourists mainly because of the ethnic touch. It is located at Gangapar, Ram Jhula. There are lots of ashrams, and temples inside the Swarg Ashram. This place is very popular among foreign tourists as well as among locals, because of its ethnic touch. Several religious activities, like chanting, meditation, aarti take place inside the Swarg Ashram. Ashram is maintained by a trust called "Kali Kamliwala Kshetra".

Rajaji National Park:

Rajaji National Park is an Indian national park and tiger reserve that encompasses the Shivaliks, near the foothills of the Himalayas. The park is spread over 820 km²., and three districts of Uttarakhand: Haridwar, Dehradun and Pauri Garhwal.

    Rishikesh Railway Station (Rksh) Is The Nearest Junction Located At A Short Distance From The Main City. The Connectivity Here Is Not That Good And The Best Option Would Be To Take A Train To Haridwar Junction Railway Station (Hw) Which Has Good Connectivity From Every City In Northern India. A Taxi Can Be Availed From Here To Rishikesh 43 Min (19 Km) Away.

    Uttarakhand State Buses Runs Regular Buses To Here From All Parts Of The State. Buses Run From Delhi, Haridwar And Dehradun On A Daily Basis. Nh34 Is The Major National Highway Passing From Here.
