Itinerary

Day 1: Rishikesh to Ransi via Ukhimath

Our journey begins with a scenic drive from Rishikesh to Ransi, covering approximately 177 km through the breathtaking landscapes of Garhwal. The route unfolds with panoramic views of lush valleys, winding mountain roads, and glimpses of the sacred Ganga flowing alongside. En route, we stop at Ukhimath to visit the revered Omkareshwar Temple, an important spiritual landmark of the region. After a short break, we continue driving another 27 km to reach Ransi village, a serene Himalayan hamlet that serves as the base camp for the Madmaheshwar trek. The day concludes amidst peaceful surroundings, setting the perfect tone for the adventure ahead.

Day 2: Trek from Ransi to Madmaheshwar Temple

Today marks the start of our trek as we journey from Ransi to Madmaheshwar Temple, a distance of around 16 km. The trek takes approximately 8–10 hours, depending on pace and weather conditions. The trail passes through dense forests, open meadows, and pristine Himalayan terrain, offering stunning views and opportunities to capture the beauty of nature and local wildlife. By evening, we arrive at the sacred Madmaheshwar Temple, one of the Panch Kedar shrines. We attend the evening aarti of Lord Shiva, soaking in the spiritual atmosphere. Dinner and overnight stay will be at a nearby guesthouse.

Day 3: Madmaheshwar – Old Madmaheshwar – Ransi

After an early start, we trek 1.5 km to Old Madmaheshwar, an ancient and spiritually significant site known for its tranquil surroundings and spectacular mountain views. After spending some quiet moments exploring and reflecting, we return to Madmaheshwar and begin our descent back to Ransi village. The total trekking distance for the day is approximately 16 km. By evening, we reach Ransi, concluding a rewarding day filled with scenic beauty and spiritual fulfillment.

Day 4: Ransi to Rishikesh

After breakfast, we begin our return drive from Ransi to Rishikesh via Ukhimath. As we retrace our route through the mountains, we carry with us memories of serene landscapes, sacred temples, and enriching trekking experiences. By evening, we arrive in Rishikesh, marking the end of the Madmaheshwar Trek. A journey that leaves us spiritually uplifted and deeply connected to the Himalayas.

  • Transportation: All transfers in shared taxis from designated PICKUP POINTS to DROP POINTS.
  • Permits and Fees: All required permits and entrance fees at tourist attractions.
  • Accommodation: Stay in comfortable hotels, lodges, or tents on a shared basis, depending on the itinerary.
  • Meals: Comprehensive meal plan, including Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks, Tea/Coffee, and Dinner during the tour.
  • Camping Equipment (if applicable): Includes tents, sleeping mattresses, kitchen tents, dining tents, and toilet tents.
  • Expert Assistance: Services of experienced Hindi/English-speaking guides, drivers, and support staff.
  • Safety Gear (if applicable): Essential trekking or adventure equipment for a safe journey.
Staff Insurance: Insurance coverage for the Uttarakhand Tour Travels team members accompanying the group.
Exclusion
  • Personal insurance and any medical expenses.
  • Personal toiletry items and personal hygiene products.
  • Individual medicine kits or prescription medications.
  • Meals during transit to and from the starting point.
  • Charges for mules/porters carrying extra luggage (Rs. 300 per bag, payable to UTT personnel at the base camp).
  • Any expenses arising from unforeseen circumstances such as weather delays or natural calamities.
  • Entry fees for monuments, temples, or other tourist sites are not included in the package.
  • Personal expenses such as tips, phone calls, laundry, and beverages.
  • Additional activities or services are not mentioned in the itinerary.

How to Reach

The nearest airport is Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun, located approximately 225 km from Ransi Village. The airport is well connected to major Indian cities like Delhi and Mumbai. From Dehradun, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Rishikesh, and then continue by road to Ukhimath and Ransi.

The closest railway station is Rishikesh Railway Station, around 200 km from Ransi Village. Rishikesh is connected to major cities such as Delhi, Haridwar, and Dehradun. From Rishikesh, taxis and shared vehicles are available for Ukhimath, followed by a drive to Ransi.

Madmaheshwar is well connected by road up to Ransi Village. You can drive or take a bus from Rishikesh or Haridwar to Rudraprayag, then continue toward Ukhimath and finally reach Ransi. From Ransi, a 16–18 km trek leads to Madmaheshwar Temple. The road journey offers breathtaking views of rivers, valleys, and Himalayan landscapes.

CANCELLATION POLICY

For the cancellation of tour services due to any avoidable or unavoidable reasons, we must be notified in writing.

CANCELLATION CHARGES PER PERSON:

  • 30 days or more before the departure date: 25% of the total cost.
  • 20 days before the departure date: 50% of the total cost.
  • Less than 20 days before the departure date: 100% of the total cost.
  • Cancellation less than 10 days before the start of the tour: You may transfer your booking (same tour, same batch) to a friend. No cash refund will be provided.

IF WE CHANGE OR CANCEL YOUR TOUR
We strive to plan your travel arrangements well in advance. However, there may be occasions when we need to make changes, and we reserve the right to do so at any time. If changes occur, we will notify you as soon as possible.

In rare cases where we must cancel your tour due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., adverse weather, insufficient bookings), we will:

  1. Offer alternative dates for the tour, provided the tour has not already started.
  2. If the alternative arrangement does not suit you, we will issue a full refund.

Your understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated in such situations.

PAYMENT POLICY

  • 46 days or more before the date of departure: 25% of the total cost.
  • 31–45 days before the date of departure: 50% of the total cost.
  • 30 days or less before the date of departure: 100% of the total cost.

Important: The booking is subject to cancellation if full payment is not received at least 30 days before the date of departure.

Terms & Condition
  • All bookings are subject to availability. In case of non-availability, arrangements will be made at a similar property of equivalent standards.
  • Meals provided during the trip will include both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options based on prior requests.
  • Rates are subject to change until the booking is confirmed.
  • Prices may vary during peak seasons such as festivals, public holidays, and long weekends.
  • An additional charge of 15% of the total tariff will apply for one child aged 5 to 12 years.
  • Any special requests, including dietary preferences or room amenities, must be communicated in advance and are subject to feasibility.
  • Cancellation and refund policies will be applicable as per company guidelines.

NOTE: Written cancellation will be accepted on working days (only). Any cancellation sent on a Sunday or any National Holiday(s), will be considered on the next official working day. In the event of any cancellation(s) after trip commencement, there will be no refunds and any costs incurred due to this cancellation will be borne by you. Irrespective of when a trip is booked, the above condition will hold.

  • Keep the Environment Clean: Avoid littering and dispose of waste in designated areas to maintain the beauty of tourist spots.
  • Avoid Night Travel: Traveling or trekking at night is risky and should be avoided unless specifically planned by the tour guide.
  • Be Cautious with Devices: Avoid using earphones during tours, as it may distract you from important announcements or surroundings.
  • Respect Local Sentiments: Do not harm, mock, or disturb the cultural and religious values of the area you’re visiting.
  • Be Prepared: Carry necessary items such as water, snacks, and emergency supplies while ensuring your luggage is lightweight.
  • Health and Safety: Inform the tour organizer of medical conditions, and always carry personal medication.
